The insurance broker profession is still misunderstood and often gives rise to incomplete ideas about what it really involves. Yet it is a rich, human and constantly evolving profession. Here are some commonly heard myths and the reality behind the role.
Being an insurance broker means first and foremost advising and supporting. The role consists of understanding clients’ needs, analyzing risks and offering tailored solutions that develop into a long-term relationship of trust.
It is also possible to enter the profession with the right support. At Courtika, we offer a structured training program that allows you to acquire the skills and certifications required to become a damage insurance broker, all while being supported by an experienced team.
Every client, every situation and every day is different. An insurance broker’s daily life is varied, stimulating and far from monotonous.
The insurance industry offers many career opportunities. Whether through specialization, advancement into advisory or management roles, or the development of new expertise, career prospects are very real at Courtika.
The ACD is the system used to automatically manage and distribute incoming calls to available brokers, based on availability or the type of request. Unlike the “module,” where clients are assigned to a specific broker, the ACD allows faster and more equitable call distribution, which reduces wait times and improves overall efficiency.
Its advantage is even more apparent in the event of an absence: calls are simply redirected to other available brokers, ensuring continuity of service without piling up pending requests, unlike the module, where a replacement needs to be arranged.
The broker profession can indeed be very well paid, but it is directly tied to involvement and performance.
At Courtika, there is a competitive base salary to which commissions and bonuses are added. The more comfortable someone is with sales and the more they develop their skills, the more their income potential grows!
What we mainly offer is an environment that allows you to perform well: volume through the ACD, support, and tools to foster success.
At Courtika, brokers can count on several forms of daily support. First, they are supported by our team of managers and directors, who act as coaches to help them develop and reach their goals. We also have a dedicated training team that especially supports newly certified brokers in their onboarding and skill development.
Finally, collaboration is one of our values. Brokers can rely on their colleagues to ask questions, validate files or share best practices.
A good insurance broker is someone who combines an empathetic client approach, business development skills and rigor. They are also someone naturally curious, interested in many fields and developing strong general knowledge to better understand their clients’ realities and advise them well.
At Courtika, it is above all a person who demonstrates professionalism and adheres to our way of working and our values.
Brokers’ training fees, as well as the cost of renewing their certification, are fully paid by Courtika.
